Examples include the mowing and landscaping, sprinkler maintence, pool maintence both in and out of season, utilities (electricity & water), attorney's fees, accounting/collection fees, postage, printing, and insurance.

When are we going to have a homeowners meeting and can I attend the meeting?
The "Association", developer Donnie Tucker, the three committee heads, the association attorney and secretary hold regular meetings (typically monthly). The developer has expressed his desire to turn the association over to the residents as soon as the subdivision is completed.
After the association has been turned over to the residents, a meeting can be held and elections of the board members can move forward. (note: The association secretary invited several residents to the last meeting to express their concerns to the committee members and the developer. Of the several residents invited, only one responded and further declined the invitation.)

Why did I get a letter of violation of the covenents and I see others who are also out of compliance? Ex: grass cutting, boat, basketball goal, metal storage building, etc.
Each month, (typically the third week) a compliance inspection is completed. After the inspection, the letters are written and mailed to the residents who are in violation. If a resident receives a letter for a compliance issue, then the other resident was mailed a letter was as well. If a resident does not comply, the issue will be escalated to the appropriate authority.
